ABOUT
OUR STORY
We are a warm, welcoming and loving group of volunteers who decided we wanted to bring back
the pride, joy, and spirit into our town, we first started this back in 2009 when we was called Target North Hirst, we had a small office located at the high market but needed somewhere bigger. But luckily in around 2012 a bigger property on castle street became available, the Dutchess of Northumberland opened our new hub.
Once we started to get the support of the local community and council we started to progress even further, we now work close with the council and police force. A neighbourhood management system were each of us has a certain patch to walk around and report any seen problems, fix it fund to improve the look of the area. Plus many more big street clean ups.

What are YOUR problems? Come talk to us, maybe we can help... if you have any problems that you would like to talk about then please come and see us, let's work it out as a community that we once were.

Our aim is to bring back the pride that this community once had.

Who are we here for?
Well for YOU! We are striving to work with the tenants, residents, partners and other stakeholders to bring about a significant improvement into the quality of the peoples lives who live within the hirst area.

How do we run?
We have a constitution/code of conduct which everyone abides by, we have a management committee who meet on a monthly basis.
Membership updates and newsletters both on an quarterly basis,
everyone is a volunteer within the group. Everyone has the opportunity to take part in which ever way possible.

What have we achieved?
We have achieved recognition from the council due to our many years of hard work. For example clean up, days where a few groups join together to take a small walk around Hirst, Ashington cleaning any rubbish we may see on the way. Fix it fund to help bring life back to peoples fences and gates who cant afford to replace it, working within the community to help organise different events and activities throughout the year. With your help and ideas we can make Ashington great again, if you do have any ideas regarding different events and activities you would like to be involved in then please don't hesitate to get in contact.
